| | Manna Meals has been a part of our OLGC parish for decades. We are a small team of parishioners who carpool to Corktown in Detroit every Tuesday from 6-11am to serve a meal and a smile to the locals in need of either. The parishioners in our team fluctuate with the seasons and the years and we welcome newcomers. On an average day we arrive to the St Peters parking lot to find a helpful group of guys waiting to help us carry donuts downstairs to the kitchen and dining room. We then spend the next 45 minutes making sandwiches, while the paid staff gets the soup ready. We staff 3 windows to serve the food, while others are doing dishes, serving coffee, or talking with guests. We clean up and are back at OLGC by about 10:30am. |
